So...My older daughter went to Berlin, Germany. She was going for a two week trip and stayed six months! She is home now visiting. Gee, that seems so weird to say she is home-visiting.I thought I'd be saying she is home but in 2 short weeks she'll be going back to Berlin.
She did bring a friend from Berlin with her.A nice girl who is very quiet compared to our family, I don't think I knew how loud we really are!! So being a Mom, I want the girls to have a great visit! I want to make everything fun but Then I realize I don't control anything :(.
Of course the weather is crappy for their visit either too cold or raining! I want them to have a nice time here. But unfortunately I can't control the weather.....If I could winter would be 3 days long. We would have one snow day just before winter school break. We would have snow on Christmas Eve-just a coating to look pretty, and a little flurries on Christmas day to keep everyone home.By new Years Eve it would be 55-60 degrees so everyone could go to see the ball drop in Times Square !( Although I would never go to that crowded event ). I'd like to see the telecast with people who aren't freezing. By February we'd have spring with temperatures in the mid- sixties!Summer would start after a rainy April- I do like rain but it should be allowed only overnight. Summer would last until late October with a brief Fall season from Halloween until December 23rd .
My husband did mention that we do have nice weather here on Long Island!! We do, but this isn't the season for it.I do have to say that at least the didn't come when Sandy did what a mess she was. (hurricane sandy!) The weather doesn't seem to be complicating their plans too much. I know it would be more fun to see NYC when it isn't raining.I so want my daughters friend to like it here. ,
Ok I can't control the weather...but does my car have to break down also? On a Saturday night, just after my mechanic closes his shop and now the car can't get towed until Monday morning! Grrrr! What I can hope for is it will be an easy fix and I'll get it back by Monday night.! They have plans for Tuesday and Wednesday and may have to take public transportation! My husband needs his car for work and my younger daughter has school (college) to attend. As for me I can walk to work which will suck in the rain.So I just have to pray it's a easy fix for my car and it's not one of those "were waiting on that part" kind of fix!
All I really want is for them to have fun they are young and that's what it should be about for them.
Well I have to get going. The dog wants to go out and I can hear a sink full of dishes calling my name....
