NO dog is SPITEFUL!!

Yes I did make him wear  a Santa hat he didn't like it much but he did like the "good boy"! After the picture was taken..... (picture wouldn't attach to page will add later!) As I have said before , my dog is a sweet boy. He is pretty obedient. Occasionally he is a thief and will willingly steal cat food for no  reason. But He is not nor have I  ever owned a dog that was spiteful.
Spite---
a malicious, usually petty, desire to harm, annoy, frustrate, or humiliate another person; bitter ill will;malice.
2.
a particular instance of such an attitude or action; grudge.
3.
Obsolete something that causes vexation; annoyance..

I hate  it when dog owners insist that their dog is spiteful! It's silly to think that when you leave for work your sleeping dog  wakes up and plots to do mass destruction . Remember a dogs brain is not a human brain. They have no concept of time (like some humans I know!). They do not know if you left five minutes ago or hours ago. I believe they walk around your home looking for you.The get bored and have nothing to do ,remember they don't watch T.V. , or the'd be watching Sue Simmons when you came home. What they do find is a slipper that smells like their human. "I'll just hold this till my human comes back". Maybe chew on it a little."This is a cool toy it has stuffing like my toys! "....chew chew chew....Wow I'm on the couch and no one is telling me to get down. He /She forgot you were gone and was tired from the new toy and decided it was nap time ,why not the couch, no one said no.
Your dog is not tearing up the slipper because he is mad at you ,that's your guilt for leaving him alone for 8 plus hours.
Dogs do not plot to crap on your expensive rug, instead of a tile floor. The cost of something is not relevant to your dog. "but he/she does it every time I leave!!" Yes they do. Not out of spite dogs brains do not have the capacity to do damage willingly and with the thought of damaging a personal object of yours. He picks on your slipper-pants-hairbrush, because he/she likes the scent of you . It may comfort them in your absence. What they are doing is either out of boredom or separation anxiety. It is never out of spite. So the next time Rover, Fido.Spot eats your hundred dollar sneakers, and not the thirty dollar ones Know that he did not know the difference . It was NOT out of spite  it was because  he was alone.
