I am a cheese sandwich

I am a cheese sandwich. American,yellow not white ,on plain white bread ("wonder" white). I am not toasted or grilled. Kids like me. Dogs like me. I am made for comfort not taste.I don't pretend I am something I am not. There is nothing pretentious about a cheese sandwich. It is not longing to be covered in truffles.Cheese sandwiches have been around forever. They have changed over the years all kinds of condiments added ,healthier or fancier breads come along. But I am consistently plain. I have no need to compete with that. I am comfort food. A childhood favorite .I have no desire to be noticed or stand out. I like the quiet. Cheese on white tends to be quiet. Sometimes I am invisible and you can go a long time without thinking about me.

Then there are days I am irresistible! I am there when you need me. I don't judge.If you leave a while I will wait for you,when you're back I will hug you and say "it's great to see you" not "where have you been"?If you want me I'm here for you.
